Renewable Energy and Farm Diversification Projects

FUNDING for renewable energy and farm diversification projects is now available through the NI Rural Development Programme.
For those landowners and rural businesses who are considering renewable energy installations, funding of up to £5000 is available for Technical Assistance. The objective of this income stream is to help farmers and businesses do their homework and research new diversification opportunities for their enterprises.

A further £50,000 fund is available to help implement diversification and renewable energy projects. To avail of this funding, the project should have planning permission obtained, grid connection quotes, an independent feasibility study and match funding in place. Other criteria may apply.
The funding programme is now open for Farm Diversification in Banbridge, Ards, Down and North Down Council areas(Down Rural), Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Larne and Moyle Council areas (North East Cluster RDP) and under Business Diversification in Antrim, Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey (GROW).
